Error on my payroll for tax withholdings?

if there was a key stroke error and too much taxes were with held on my check can i request to have that money refunded back to me for the next pay check? My filing status was not correct and there was too much money taken out. The paper work was done electronically and the mistake could have very well been my fault or the fault of the payroll department!
