I could really use your help!!! Do you think this sounds right(details below)?
please bear with me here. long but extremely important to me. If you ever felt like being a true humanitarian, now is the time, lol. ok, so i did my taxes just the other day and it says i owe like $650. To me this is ALOT of money. I only made 7000 last year and i was getting eic(earned income credit) When i started my job(fast food) this was like a mandatory paper to fill out along with the rest of the paperwork. I had no idea I would owe every cent back(got like a thousand in eic but with what the gov owed me came out to me owing 650) Does this sound right or should i try e-filing elsewhere(used turbotax) I did not expect to even owe back since it was something i had to sign, and its supposed to HELP low income people. If this is right i am totally screwed. How did this help me? I have no idea how i will pay it back, as I BARELY scrape by the way it is. I have no hit file on turbotax yet, so im trrying to figure out what to do. THe reason I am just now getting to my taxes is because i didnt get a w2 via mail b/c i had a change of address. We were supposed to be able to get them online but the website i tried to get it on sent me a confirmation saying it would be ready in 2012(wtf??) It did not show up electronically like it was supposed to. Do i maybe owe so much since it has taken so long? If so, who can i talk to about this, b/c its not right that I would owe so much do to my company's ineffective ability to get w2's out. I have no idea what to do. If this is right, how long of a period can i stretch this out to pay the gov. back? What if i just dont file at all? What if i do file and cant pay anything(i really do just BARELY scrape by) Will they take me to jail? Am i going to go to jail for being an honest, hard-working, low class american? I cant find another job(no crim. record either) so what am i supposed to do? Any help is VERY VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. Thanks to the nerds of Y! answers for any help!(joke by the way) But really. thank you so much ahead of time for any help!
