Could you jump into water to escape an explosion (PLEASE see inside) ?

It could save you except for the fact that only in the movies do you get to see an explosion and have time to do stuff like that. The reason they run those scenes in slow motion, is because if they made either the explosion or the jumping in realistic time it would be obvious how mismatched they are.
